Exhibition - 100 Years of Dolls
This exhibit displays a sampling of dolls from the museum collection that illustrate the use of various materials: fabric, papier-mache, porcelain, composition, and plastics. The selected dolls represent over 100 years of doll-making in the United States and Europe.
For millennia, children have played with dolls. Over time, the substances from which both handmade and commercially produced dolls were made have evolved depending on accessibility, durability, ease of use, and cost.
